The Zoo, meanwhile, reports that everything is going just fine for the newly named panda cub. Bei Bei is now four pounds, a huge increase from its tiny birth weight of just 86.3 grams, or just over 3 ounces.
Bei Bei, which means Precious Treasure, was named Friday, September 25, during the Chinese state visit. First Lady Michelle Obama and First Lady of the People's Republic of China, Peng Liyuan visited the Zoo to announce the new name.
