A preview of NASA’s coming movie…uh…launch.
Two years ago, NASA’s astronaut program, with its own space shuttle sidelined, had to sit by and watch the L.A.-based Jet Propulsion Laboratory rack up millions of web hits for its “Seven Minutes of Terror” video previewing the Curiosity rover’s landing on Mars. The video took the normally nerdy subject of EDL (entry, descent, and landing) and amped up the drama to the level of a Superbowl pregame show.
Now, with NASA’s Orion spacecraft set to debut on December 4, human spaceflight has its own drama to sell, and its own video.
