Jessie Aucoin is an education specialist at the National Postal Museum. She holds Bachelors of Sciences in both History Education and Social Sciences Education from Illinois State University. Following four years of teaching history and religious studies in the middle and high school classrooms, Jessie transitioned to museum education in 2006.
The pandemic has provided the rare opportunity for many of us to slow down and listen to the world around us. At the Smithsonian, listening is an essential part of our work. Listening to individuals, communities, and organizations helps us better understand and serve the public as well as document and preserve our nation’s history.
