From the Smithsonian Museums
Laura Klopfer is Deputy Director of Learning Innovation at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. She leads a team which seeks to develop a passionate global community that celebrates their connection to nature, takes meaningful action to protect it, and inspires others to do the same. While she loves all the unique species at the Zoo, she has a particular fondness for the prehensile-tailed porcupines in the Small Mammal exhibit from her early days as a volunteer.
Smithsonian educators provide tips for making the outdoors your very own curiosity-sparking classroom.
