As director of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Josh energetically convokes leading researchers to address climate change and biodiversity loss by solving sticky, multidisciplinary problems. He builds support to innovate international, community-based sustainability science; tropical reforestation and restoration; and to rewild animal behavior research—all with an emphasis on training a new generation of tropical biologists in countries where their contributions are most leveraged.
