We are a history Museum focusing on the history of the Fort Wayne Fire Department from its beginning in 1839 through the present. We have artifacts from the 1860s, 1900, and beyond to todays fire equipment. Go back to the days of the hand operated equipment, to the horse drawn days, and then to the large modern fire trucks. Fire safety education is also available in our Fire Safety theater.
Exhibits
1860 Hand Pumper used by the volunteers. 1893 horse drawn steam fire engine. 5 fire trucks from 1927 thru 1955. Lots of pictures, Fire gear and hand tools from all time periods. Interactive computer displays and much more.
