President James K. Polk State Historic Site

This site is located on land once owned by the parents of James K. Polk, the 11th U.S. president. The state historic site shares with visitors the early life of James K. Polk, the story of the enslaved on the Polk farm through recent research and the significant events in the Polk administration.

The site features a self-guided museum where a film on Polk's administration is shown.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
