Watch a Cougar Grab a Salmon off a Zipline
More food should be delivered by zipline
If you’ve ever doubted the cuteness and power of a cougar, watch this video. At the Oregon Zoo, keepers keep their cats Paiute and Chinook in shape and well-fed using a zipline and a bunch of frozen salmon.
Here’s some background on the two cats:
Paiute and Chinook came to the zoo after being found as orphans in Idaho and Washington. Because cougar cubs are taught by their mothers to hunt, they will typically starve if left on their own. As the AZA species coordinator for cougars, Schireman has placed more than 70 orphaned cubs in zoos around the country.
We think more food should be delivered by zipline.
