Friday, June 19: Toddler Rock
Today, the toddlers in your home have an opportunity to rock out at the Discovery Theater with Rocknoceros—an alternative rock/pop group whose catchy tunes and clever lyrics are sure to please your littlest audiophile. (And if you're a Generation X-er parent who shudders at the thought of sitting through music in the vein of Raffi or Lois and Brahm's Elephant Show, Rocknoceros has the distinction of playing DC's 9:30 Club on July 19, which is some indication that they're hipper than the average kiddie band. Saturday, June 20: Warholapalooza Family Day
Run run run out to the American Art Museum and celebrate the life and art of Andy Warhol in this day-long family friendly festival. Events include: art workshops, readings and signings by Warhol's nephew and children's book authors James Warhola, gallery talks, a screening of Warhol's Screen Tests, and more! Sunday, June 21: Ibero-American Guitar Festival
This is the last day of a three day music festival that honors the memory of late Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos with concerts, lectures, and master classes featuring the best performers on guitar and guitar-related instruments from the Americas, Spain, and Portugal. Come enjoy performances from Eduardo Fernandez, Hamilton de Holanda, Fabio Zanon, Federico Tarazona (Ancashino), and Victor Villadangos.
