Friday, August 21: Book Signings: They Have Killed Papa Dead and Burning of Washington
Although we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of Honest Abe’s birth, it’s impossible to avoid thinking about the tragic circumstances of his death. Author Anthony Pitch will be available to sign copies of They Have Killed Papa Dead! The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln, as well as another history, The Burning of Washington: The British Invasion of 1814. Saturday, August 22: Indian Summer Showcase Series: The Blues: Roots, Branches, and Beyond

Sunday, August 23: The Scurlock Studio and Black Washington
A docent will take you on a tour of the photography exhibition, The Scurlock Studio and Black Washington. The show celebrates and documents black Washington DC through almost a century’s worth of photographs. Free. American History Museum, 10:30 AM
